It's baaack....

Black Friday is here and consumerism has hit a new low. Today Americans are headed to the mall before even digesting their pie. Check out this article for a preview of the madness or better yet, read the original post on this topic. Sub-prime lending crisis? Crisis, shmisis!

I cant believe all this Midnight and 5am shopping! People are already so far in debt and now a lot are losing their homes and stores still want them to run up the credit cards! I have stopped giving Xmas gifts except what we really need and want and have a tight control on my credit card. My husband and I just retired at 54 and 59 with over a million in the bank and real estate thanks to not blowing all the money. We still have fun! Save your money for the real spirit of the holidays.

thanks M. in Lake Havasu City, Az

And this is why we give charitable contributions to all adults instead of gifts...

I am so sorry - but there is something about being out with your sister, leaving the family and being able to do some retail therapy from 10:30pm to midnight on Friday.
It was good. We bonded - and we bought things.
Let me tell you, at 10:30pm, when the store has been open since 4am - you basically have the place to yourself. It was a pretty good deal.
